I think I got a decent deal but am kicking myself for not realizing one thing.
Weseloh Chevrolet in Carlsbad is advertising on their splash page a $149/mo lease, $1,995 down, 10,000 miles, 36 months for MSRP $34,155 Volts.
I called ahead to Steve Uyeno, Internet Sales Manager and negotiated a Kinetic Blue model they had available with upgraded sound, leather seats and all-weather floor mats with 12,000 miles for $3,000 down out the door, $201.74/mo.
Seems like a decent deal but I'm not completely sure the extra monthly was worth the extra mileage since my paperwork states miles will be billed at $0.25/mile and the extra $50/mo over 36 mos comes out to roughly $0.30/mile but I guess that's not taking into account the vehicle upgrades.

Can anyone help me with these forums? I don't see threads in any boards unless I navigate to them logged out.

Don't kick yourself for the small difference in mileage rates. You should kick yourself for leasing altogether. They've enticed you into a lifetime of getting cars before you can afford them and always having a car payment.

One thing about the volt, it's such a pleasure to drive that you find reasons to go to more places, until you exceed your mileage limits then feel stranded that you can't go anywhere. Personally I love the 100% down, $0 per month, unlimited miles, and unlimited term "lease"

I'd say you got a good lease deal. And yes it's more about the upgrade than about the miles. Essentially your lease payment is the difference between the purchase price and the residual. Both will go up with the higher trim level but leasing the lower trim level should always be lower.

Depending on the residual there is little difference between leasing and buying. Just depends on your situation. You can always buy at the end of the lease.

Was this Volt an LT or Premier?
