I've searched and searched, but can not find an answer.

I'm looking to get a 3rd fob in the mix in case we lose one along the way. I see that for the 2014 that they come in 2 styles......315mhz and 433 mhz.

How do I know which one I have??? I've looked at all my literature and on the fob and can not tell which one I have.

Anyone ??

Thanks...............

a little off topic, but I just replaced the battery on my fob. Took the new battery out of the package, put it in the fob, but it didn't work. Took me about an hour to figure out (with reprogramming tries) there was a warning sticker on the plus side of the new battery that was making it not make an electrical connection. Doh!

flip open the key, it's printed in small type at the seam under where the key rests when in the closed position.
Thanks...found it.....it is VERY hard to read.......needed a flashlight and a magnifying glass !!!

Mine says 22923867 ($55.80 on GM Parts site)............that one says "Volt Coded" ??? Any idea what that means ??? If I get the UNcoded 22923862 ($39.38), will I be able to program it in the car ????

Thanks.

Programming a new key is on page 2-5 of your owner's manual. Stick with the #22923867.

Yeah... When I first got my Volt, I changed the batteries in both fobs, because they were both dying. After that, the car wouldn't recognize either fob. I used the emergency key start to drive to the dealer. They fixed it in about 10 minutes. I had the batteries installed backwards. Talk about feeling like an idiot...

Best Regards,

I'm aware of the programming technique, just wanted to know if the 22923862 would work??? In my research, apparently the 22923867 is no longer produced....still available in SOME places, but can I guess it's been replaced by the 22923862 ?
