Have 2017 Volt. Have 1 original key and 1 un-programmed ebay bought key. Is it possible to use 1 original key to program the other key? I've read all the posts, and responses are confusing as to the conditions need to program 1 key using 1 good known original key.

From the manual:

If a
transmitter is lost or stolen, a
replacement can be purchased and
programmed through your dealer.

A new transmitter can be
programmed to the vehicle when
there are two recognized
transmitters.

You can program new transmitters if you have both of them. Otherwise you need to go to the dealer.

If you have a GOOD high end scanner, a second transmitter can be paired without a dealer visit. I just used our SnapOn Solus to pair a second one. I know most people don't own a scanner like that, but most local garages do. If they can do it, it will cost less than the dealer.
