New legislation in the Lone Star state is set to provide up to $2500 in rebates to buyers or lessors of an electric vehicle, which contains at least a 4kwh battery. The rebate is spread out over three years; therefore, lessors on a three year lease will only be eligible for $1750 of the rebate. The program is currently capped at 2,000 cars per annum.
