Jaguar has been going downhill for a while. My concern is if they botch this it will also hurt EV sales in general - the anti-EV crowd will point to Jaguar as proof that EVs can't compete with ICE, but will conveniently ignore the fact that Jaguar was already a failing car company.
To the contrary, JLR are doing quite well thank you. Jaguar has developed and introduced five new cars in the last five or six years, and they were well received and are selling. I'm less familiar with LR, but I think they have brought out three or four new cars in the same time frame. The upcoming Jaguar I-Pace EV has received rave reviews from the auto press as one of the best EV's coming to the market. I've driven one and it's a great car. Since JLR were released from a nearly bankrupt Ford Motor Company in 2009, and now have development funds from Tata, they are on an upward swing.
