The title kind of says it all. Several of my favorite watering holes do not have public wifi. I can park the Volt close enough to use it, but it seems that I have to keep the car fully powered up to use the wifi. And even that is at least a minor PITA, having to do 'rubber bands', 'key hokey pokey (in and out of window)', or whatever.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,
Hans.

Accessory mode, but that only lasts for 10 mins at a time. Rubber band or hokey pokey it is.

On my 2015 I wanted the accessory power plugs on continuous to charge phones or whatever. I found the relay in the drivers door fuse block. Removed relay and made a 2" jumper with male spade connectors and plugged into where the relay contacts were. I would guess the same could be done with the Onstar box if that is where the WIFI comes from. I would check the current draw to make sure it won't kill the battery in a few hours.
