If I hit the pause and then play on the infotainment it plays the song. So, finish current song, switch to next, and it sits.

My gen2 (2016) has no end of problems interfacing with my iPod via the USB port. Half the time the media cannot be found. When it does work, it only plays 3 to 6 tunes, then Volt loses contact with the iPod for the rest of the drive ("no media" or "media cannot be found"). The Volt is the most brilliant powertrain design on the planet, but the niggling quality problems throughout the vehicle are maddening at times.

Are you using an original Apple USB cable or quality aftermarket one like Anker? Some cheap third-party cables cause this type of problem.

I'm using the original Apple cable, but will switch it out for another one. Thanks for the suggestion. Fingers crossed...
