I upgraded my iPhone 6 to the latest version, 10.1.1 and now when a call comes into my phone and I answer with the steering wheel button, it automatically goes to private call mode.

I deleted and re-paired the phone a couple of times, rebooted the iPhone etc but nothing fixes it. Prior to upgrading to iOS 10, it worked flawlessly.

Right now, when a call comes in, I hit the answer button on the steering wheel and then I have to hit the transfer button on the Center touch screen to return to the car audio system from private call mode.

Outgoing calls are fine.

Any ideas?

I'm so glad you brought this up. Been bugging me since I upgraded also--like everyday since I always get a call in the car. I don't know about anyone else, but this upgrade has completely s*cked on so many levels. This is just example #742201.

I've got no solution but will post if I find one. I'm planning on doing a hard reset of the phone to fix a number of other issues with this upgrade. Will let you know if that does it.

iOS 10.2 does not fix this issue. Next chance I get, I will try re-pairing the phone to the car.

On the bright side, you can switch from private call mode by simply pressing the Tune button, which is the big one in the middle of the center stack.

Exact same problem here. Driving me crazy and it is not safe. iOS 10 has also slowed my phone and I don't like the new unlock behavior. I really regret "upgrading".
Unsafe? You answer the phone and hit "transfer" after the call is answered and it's fine. Hardly unsafe. My phone is perfectly fine since the update and I've been on it for months.

Well, it is distracting more attention away from driving when a call comes in as you have to divert your attention more than you used to have to do. It is certainly less safe.

The issue is, who do you complain to? I suspect it is one of those things that likely will never get fixed. Here in Ontario, we have heavy duty fines for distracted driving and just about anything can qualify as distracting.

I'm on apples beta team and I've told Apple of the issue.

Great! Can you add the issue with voicemails opening and closing right away? 10.2 did NOT fix it. Erase and restore of IOS 10 did not fix it. This upgrade created a lot of maddening bugs on my 6S plus, and very unhappy with Apple right now.

The Bluetooth answering issue is the only issue either my gf or I have experienced. Today I had a VM not play right away but my phone storage is FULL and I think that may have something to do with it.
