What's up Ottawa Volt people. I'm just starting the new car quest, and am considering a Volt. I'm coming from a C-Max Energi, and would like the extra electric range that the Volt has. The C-Max doesn't quite get my wife to work and back without using gas, and currently the several trips to NB each year would take a lot longer in the Bolt (DC fast charging is non-existent in NB at this time...)

Just getting started on this, but does anyone know of a dealership that has one on-hand for test drives? First step is making sure we like the feel. Although the Volt is a hatchback, it's quite a bit more sedan-like than our C-Max, at least from what I can tell from the outside.

Also, any dealer recommendations are welcome. I'm in the West Wellington area.

Thanks

I purchased from surgenor barvhaven about a month ago. They brought a car in from their gatineau dealership for me to test drive and was willing to trade with other dealerships to get the car I wanted.

I bought my gen 1 from LaPlante, and traded it in for a gen 2 a year ago at surgenor Ottawa. I have a great experience at both but would recommend surgenor. John Cyr was my salesman and I did everything by phone, drove up from Burlington and they had everything ready to go when I arrived. Used more gas on the ride home than in the next 33,000 km I put on my gen 2 :)

There are a lot of Volts in Ottawa - I know part of it is that now that I have bought a Volt I see them all but during my commute each day I pass between 3-5 Volts. I have yet to see a Bolt in Ottawa and I keep looking for them

I have seen a Bolt in the wild! Honestly, I think it needs a styling improvement, but as a first cut, it is good.

If you're still looking, Surgenor in Orleans and Myers in Barrhaven each had one as of yesterday. Surgenor Gatineau has a few, if you're willing to go across the river.

Problem with going across the river is that I believe he won't be eligible for the $14000 Ontario rebate. Has to be purchased in Ontario.

I was only recommending that for a test drive, I test drove in Orleans then ordered elsewhere (better price offered). I think you can get the rebate if you buy in Quebec, but you'd need to do all paperwork yourself - for me it was definitely worthwhile to have the dealer do it.

A surgenor dealership in ON can also bring it in from Surgenor QC. You can claim the rebate if you purchase in North America (NAFTA vehicle) and do not claim any other jurisdiction incentive. It's how you can buy a Tesla in Montreal and get the ON credit if you live in Ottawa, etc.

This is probably the reason Surgenor seems to be the only dealers in Ottawa with stock. Sales aren't as strong in QC, I assume due to lower rebate.
