A few days ago I posted a thread about software updates being available. Yesterday I dropped my 2011 Volt #1569 off at the dealership to have these new software updates installed. The entire process took about 4 hours to complete. It is a very large update. I'm told there are a few updates to the navigation. I have yet to discover what these new updates are. I haven’t really used the navigation too much so I might not even notice them.
After picking up my Volt I noticed a few changes. 1st off... the auto heated seats have been removed from the climate settings home screen. I found an option for auto heated seats still under the remote start options menu. I reported this to the Volt Advisor Team. There were a few updates to the sound quality of the vehicle I'm told. The main part of this update is to improve the overall range of the Volt. I have not completed driving a full charge yet, so I have not been able to prove or disprove any increase. AND THE BIG QUESTION.... does the radio need to be on in order to use the center stack... yes... it still does.
All of this said and done.... HERE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART:
I got a call this morning from the Volt Advisor Team. The reported that they will be putting the update on hold until they can work out some more updates. It sounded as though they were unaware of the heated seat issue and they want to go over the updates with a finer tooth comb before they roll it out to everyone.
For now I will try to throw some updates on this thread as to other changes or range increases I can report... since very few... if any Volt cars got this update before it was placed on hold.
Has anyone else received the new/held update? Have you noticed any other changes?
