I bought my 2013 Volt about 10 months ago. About 6 months ago, I took it in for a software update, to fix some random crashes of the touch screen. No crashes since.

However, I don't remember this before the update: the car now says "Good Bye!" to us every time I turn it off and open the door. It's really annoying. I've looked in the configuration screens, but I can't figure out how to turn this "feature" off. I suspect that it's a safety feature to help avoid leaving the car On in park and leaving the car? Still, I don't think I'm likely to do that; my brain is well trained in my Volt routine now.

Can you help me turn this off? Thanks!

While it's making the "good bye" sound, use the volume knob to adjust to your preference. Ditto for the "hello".

See if there's an "Audio Cue" control in the config to turn off. I know the startup and shutdown woosh are controlled by that and maybe this is too.

Ours never talked to us, the whoosh wasn't annoying. I think I'd shoot the car if it said 'Hello' and 'Good Bye.'
