I'm sure this has been answered before, but I have been unable to locate answer using various phrases in the search function.

I literally just picked up my 2015 Volt today and am totally confused. I cannot find information about how to setup a time for charging to begin. The owners manual shows me how to plug in the 110v cord and the charging handle, but nothing about setting time to start charging.

What I want to do is plug the cord in at say 6PM when I get home, but have the charging start automatically after 11PM when the rates drop down.

What are the steps, buttons, dance steps, incantations, magic words I need to do that? Thanks in advance for help for this complete newbie.

Owner's manual:
Charging 9-45, step 4. Plug the charge cord into the electrical outlet. The note says, See “Charge Level Selection” under Programmable Charging on page 5-29.

Programmable Charging, hmmmm.

Yes, the manual is your friend. I assume this info was in there just like for my 2012.
Pretty sure if you just play with the settings in the car you'll find delayed charging info too.

Use delayed charging, set from the charge mode tab on the energy screen (press the leaf button above drive mode). What I do is set the charging to be complete at 6AM. I don't know if you can set a start time, but you can set the finish time to be near the end of your lowest electric rate time window.

What he said. Also, there is an option in that same menu to set the Volt to charge when rates are low. I've never messed with it since my rates stay the same. So I'm not too familiar with it.

Edit: If I remember correctly, you have to set the charge mode to "Departure and rate".
