I have a 2015 Volt with nav and the Sirius XM trial. How do I get the map to show where traffic slowdowns are, regardless of whether I've programmed a destination. I want to see the green/orange/red roads that shows where traffic is tied up as I'm driving along.

Get used to disappointment. This is precisely where Android Auto and Apple Car play pick up.

on my moms car she subscribed to xm- traffic and weather package- it gives her what you are talking about

I get traffic rerouting when I'm navigating, and I get weather. I can't figure out how to show the traffic lines on the map.

I managed to set that stuff up on my 2012 when I first got it, but soon turned it all off - it was mostly wrong, and the constant interruptions about traffic ruined any kind of music I might have been playing. Now I use waze on my phone, phone mounted to the vent to the right of the steering wheel - much better performance.
