My husband's 2011 Prius was in an accident and most likely is going to be declared total by the insurance company tomorrow. We weren't planning on replacing it for another 2 years but we're going to be forced to.
If we order the Bolt, how long will it take ?

We are in a non-urban area in the hills and can't live with just 1 car - does anyone know of a temporary car rental solution during the waiting period ? Would any dealer be able to assist with that ?

Check with Chevy dealers. Some may have allocations that were not pre-ordered or someone that pre-ordered may have backed out.

It may be best to buy a beater car for now, knowing that you will only keep it for a short time.

I would recommend calling Rydell in Northridge, CA. Rydell was selling for $1,000 of MSRP.

Do some research, There may be a dealer close enough to you that has one in stock. There only so many configurations and options to choose from , you may be able to find one exactly like you want or very close. Good luck.

Your location is noted as San Jose CA, which is not too far from Fremont, right? That dealer shows stock of 130, mostly in-transit but maybe one of those in-transit VINs would have the color/config you want?

GM doesn't pre-sell all their cars like Tesla, and since it is in a limited market for the first few months there shouldn't be much shortage. Should be able to snag one from a dealer, maybe call around. I don't imagine many will be on the lot before they are sold at this point, which is why I suggest calling. I would skip ordering one if you are in a hurry, as others said, not that many possible options so should be able to find the one you want.

Rydell shows 14 in stock and about another 68 on the way. all with 1K off list price

Keys shows 12 in stock with another 69 on the way.

These two dealer are the top dealers in the country, you won't find anywhere else to get you into a Bolt faster
STRONGLY recommend Rydell over Keyes. Ask Keyes for a $1k discount and see what happens. If you're lucky, they'll come back only $1k OVER MSRP.

Check out Fremont and Capitol...As far as the other L.A. area dealers mentioned, AT BEST you may get $1K off MSRP, there's another L.A. dealer selling them at invoice, PM me if want that contact, but if I were you unless you were planning on coming to L.A. anyways I'd shop around your neck of the woods...

Friend stopped at Capital last weekend. They ran lease numbers for him (has current Volt lease). They marked up the MF on him (0.00144) , added $520 in add-ons, had the wrong residual (57% at 36/10) and offered no discount on the Bolt. Lease was quoted at $569 including tax...

No bueno but stopping in is a rookie car buying mistake and an overly "eager" salesperson at any dealership is capable of trying to rip off someone...Best to do everything by email, tell them the MF and res and ask for the a screenshot picture of the itemized breakdown...From the Volt deals I've seen reported, Capital has had the second lowest (fremont was first) but you often have to deal with the internet or fleet dept from the beginning, not a random salesman...Search around here or lease deal sites for a specific POC...

Bro do you have any written documentation to back up your claim we are asking over MSRP to Forum Members? I beg to differ and once again would ask you to stop lying to members. I once again have sold over 3500 Vehicles from this Forum and maybe we have had 5 complaints and all were resolved. We are not perfect. I hire and train great people, but very very occasionally our execution has not gone correctly. We have many Bolts available and just earned 70 more. We are competitive with the market place and offer excellent service and perhaps as important a wide range of inventory and expertise. We have also noticed dealers including others mentioned have sold people units without fast charge. All of our have been ordered with important feature. In addition we have chargers available in our parts department for customer easy purchase.

Thank you

Ricky Bobby, stop playing your games and just post whether or not you will give a $traight 1k off MSRP deal like Rydell has been doing. What is so hard about that? Put up or shut up. The forum members would appreciate that, instead of your nebulous, non-committal statements about price.

I finally did find *one* person that bought a car from you (shipped to Nebraska. I'm sure you know who that is). After probing a few times, he said he paid "a little over MSRP". Confirms the reported OVER MSRP reports your dealership is charging.

I had a great experience with Keyes on a Volt. I asked for a quote from Rydell for purchase of a premier and asked for the 1k off and they obliged, but in the breakdown they had an add on for lojack. Which makes no sense since the car has on star.

I had a great experience with Rick/Keyes as well as did three others I sent there for Volts.

It seems we are starting all over with the dealer games regarding Bolts. It doesn't matter if we are loyal customers - everyone pays the same price till demand goes down.

Why is it so hard to confirm $1000 off MSRP on a forum with dedicated buyers??

Rydell shows $1000 off on their website and then pulls these games. Keyes is silent. Time to squeeze every last penny I guess.

Hello Rydell/Keyes???

We do have Bolts that we sell for 1000.00 off MSRP. Some of these Bolts do have product on them that include Door Edge Guards, Finishing touch and VTR. For those who do not like those products I understand in advance. We charge 395.00 total to Forum members for all three items. These have been applied for retail buyers and a non discounted price and are not on all units. I can not give them away for free. This deal is only for Forum Members and is good 1-12-17 or upon my acceptance afterwards. We do not put LOJACK on our vehicles and we do not mark the rate up nor play any games. 3500 Happy Forum Customers, 5 or so not Happy and all the doubters. These deals are for California . Out of State Deals may be a bit more. I have also been told because of the amount of used cars we sell within the Keyes group that we are usually 500 to 1000 higher on trade allowances and our financing is usually lower because of our pull with the banks we use. It is just not one thing that saves money! I am sure I will hear from doubters, but so be it.

bro1999 how about you stop playing troll. Rick is a supporting advertiser of the forum, he may or may not be the lowest price in the country at any given moment, but has sold more cars to members than any other dealer in the country. If you have a personal issue with him or how is chooses to sell is cars, please take it up some where else than jumping in on every single post Keys makes in the forum, which unlike you, he has paid to do.

Bro,
I wish I knew what I did to hurt your feelings? I am more then happy to help mend those open wounds. I am not here to devalue your comments except when you are misinforming people of Keyes Chevy or those things I represent. We come from a different prospective. As I have often been the best deal in the country there are also select times when a better deal can be had, however rarely is the service better then I personally offer. No other GM has been as active on this Forum or perhaps in any other function then I am. People call me all hours of the day and night for guidance and I am usually available to help them out. So perhaps we can have a truce and just agree to disagree or I will just do my best to hold my ground when I feel needlessly attacked. In any case I wish you the best. Thank you
Rick

FWIW, the Rydell website is clearly showing $1000 off of their Bolts thru 1-31-17. Their discount is not just for today, and not just with manager approval afterwards.

A Rydell happy customer
