I would not want to be inside the NmG in a car crash. Then again, being on a bicycle in a car crash isn't safe either. When I was a kid, someone on the block had a car that looked a bit like the NmG, but the whole front of the car was the door. Kinda cool really. A French car I think.

It could have been the BMW Isetta, once considered the world's smallest car. The only door is the entire front:

I have seen a few here in Puerto Rico. There were famous for their small size, but also were easy to flip over in a curve.
