How many miles do you have on OHM-RIDE? I don't see it listed on Voltstats.
I thought I was on there. Gonna go check. How many miles do you have on OHM-RIDE? I don't see it listed on Voltstats.
That is exactly what they have been saying in Sturgis all week.... I hadn't really thought about the sheer number of cycles until today.
Well, 12 years at my rate of use.The estimated lifespan of the HVB is 6,000 charge cycles. Charging daily this is over 16 years before degradation is detected.
LOL.. my friend got back from Sturgis last year and I was like "how did you like it", he was like "WHAT?!?"That is exactly what they have been saying in Sturgis all week.
That's very comforting. I only drive 12K miles a year, 53% electric according to Voltstats, so the battery will never be a problem for me.My 2011 is now 150 miles from the 100,000 threshold. Built in fall of 2010 charged daily sometimes twice a day. I'm easily at about 2,500 charge cycles. No noticeable battery deterioration.
It's "Apple style" A charge cycle is the Volt's "empty" to "full". That's part of HOW they get 6000 cycles out of the pack, but ... that's what it is is, though. 200,000+ EV miles. Even Belmer has a way to go.What counts as a charge cycle with a Volt? Is it every time you top off the battery or is it counted the same way that Apple counts them with their laptops....i.e.: if your MacBook is charged at 100% and you use 50% of your battery, then charge it back to 100%, then use another 50% of battery, then charge it back to 100%.......that is equal to only one charge cycle (50+50=100).
