We are nearing a decision on a a new 2018 Volt versus a 2019 Hyundai Ioniq (standard hybrid, non-plugin). One could call it an apples to oranges comparison, I know--they are fundamentally different types of cars--but we are just looking for something with good fuel economy.
The Hyundai has blind spot monitoring, like this: when there is a car in your blind spot, an orange indicator on the side view mirror lights up; it turns off when that car exits your blind spot. If there is a car in you blind spot (orange light on), AND you flip your turn signal as if you are going to change into that lane, the orange light blinks and you hear a loud beep.
This seems like a very valuable safety feature.
How does it work in the Volt Driver Confidence Package 1? Visible signal? Audible signal?
Thanks.
