Victor ( a 2013 Volt ) set his new personal best on the drive home from work today with 5.490 miles/KwH.

This was my normal daily commute at the 28 mile mark. It included several instances of beating the pants off of anybody next to me at traffic lights and a few runs up to about 70 mph.

The last 5 miles of the trip are notoriously hard on range, typically taking 8 - 10 miles off the predictometer, so I use these 28 miles as my measuring stick.

It was quite a bit warmer today. I purchased Victor in mid-November last year, so I do not have any real warm weather driving stats yet.

Wow!

28 miles is nothing. I've seen 52 miles on my commute on a good day where it's warm but you don't need AC and a wind at your back, driving like a grandpa. But those days are over since I added 18" wheels, lower profile tires, and take on any and all pony cars and ricer boys (and soccer moms too) at the lights. And drive 70 mph+ on the interstate. Yes my range has dropped, but the car looks and drives great with the new wheels.

I may be wrong, but I don't think the point is how many miles they got on one charge, the point is that it only used 5.1 kwh for the 28 miles. That is not something I ever measure - but this morning I went to the dealership and back and noticed I used about 7kwh in about half as many miles. I did have the heater on 80, heated seats on, and sport mode. :)

I'm curious to how many electric miles they get on one charge.

OP here:

My point is that I drove 28 miles on half the battery. Had I continued on, one would think that would be 56 miles on one charge.

It was only 5 more hilly, sandy miles to home, so I do not know what the top distance was for a full charge. Those last 5 miles are rough.

I understood. And my point was to have some fun, the car will still get great fuel mileage without trying to milk every EV mile.

Great advice! Side note: I love your wheels. I am a noob. Have had my off lease 2014 Premium since 2/20 and this is the funnest (?) car I have ever owned and I have owned some highly respected sports cars and trucks. I try to balance fun and economy though. I should just go for the fun. We only go around once and I am not a Spring chicken. Sadly, my car is going to the body shop today for four days due to a pile of big highway cones falling off the truck a couple of vehicles in front of me at 65 mph. Almost $2000 in damage!
I wanted one of these when they were released but the price was out of my league. With prices of the ones coming off lease I was a goner!
I have gotten 40.8 miles on a charge around town. Love it! I have the Bose upgrade and I noticed some call it crap. I know audio quality is a very personal thing but I don't understand the bashing. I have had cars that had better systems but I have almost no complaints about the one in my car. I am a little discerning being a semi-professional/professional musician for 45 years but the system sounds fine for what it is..........an automobile cabin.
Anyway, I am going to drive a very nice, high quality car, take care of it and keep it looking good, and most of all........have fun.
Note: Glad I stumbled upon this forum. Seems like a bunch of nice folks for the most part. ;)
