Hello,

the back-door of my volt 1 does not stay open any more, one of the hood struts is loosing liquid.
Can I repair this myself?
What is the part-number and how much are they?

Thanks!

Those support struts aren't usually very expensive (at least they aren't on my Jeep).
It would be helpful if you included which year your Volt is so we can be specific on parts (though I think all the gen 1 are the same)

My 2013 would take these (if I needed to replace them)

Also, not the same issue, but be aware of this....

My rear hatch struts were replaced free as part of the customer service campaign. Yours may be eligible as well depending on your VIN. The dealer can look it up.

Of course the MODEL YEAR can make a huge difference in the answer to issues posted on this forum. Why people omit that detail is always a puzzle.Model year, miles should always be included. Ever notice that dealers almost always want this info?

New people are the ones with the questions. And it takes a bit to absorb all the conventions.
