I connected my relay to the far end (supply side) of the fuse post, so the power does not flow through the existing fuse (assuming you used the small black box at the top of the the driver side firewall to pull power). Your relay should have its own fuse, so you do not have to tap the main fuse. If something goes bad, it is a lot easier to replace your relays fuse
