I haven't been able to get any traction with my suggestions to our government, that we should build specialized drill/tanker ships that can drill sideways. That way, we could drill into the Mid-East oil fields, suck them dry, and leave all of the OPEC thugs sitting in the resulting pit. So, it looks like we need alternatives. . .
I just stumbled across this site while doing online searches for information hybrid vehicles and the associated technologies. After nosing around for a while, I decided this looks like a place I would find comfortable.
I love the idea of reducing (or eliminating!) our dependence on foreign oil, and have been a long-time supporter of hybrid or electric vehicles. Furthermore, being a native Oregonian, I am genetically attracted to the "greener" aspect of these vehicles. The discussions on this forum are, for the most part, very good.
