I'm on my third Volt, a '16. I have always felt like there is some hesitation when you accelerate while on ICE especially at highway speeds. To me there is a definite difference to when you are running on electric. I wonder if it cuts back a little bit when you get to the minimum charge. I am wondering if anybody else has felt this. Like I said this is my third and this has been the case in all of them.

My 2017 responds immediately, almost as fast as a manual transmission and far faster faster than my wife's Solara.

First generation Volts definitely hesitate when floored at highway speeds on ICE, because they have to shift back into series mode and lock the ring gear before unleashing the full power of MG B.

I have no explanation for your 2016, though - that shift went away with the new transmission design.
