I have to agree with jbaker, my 2011 is VERY sensitive. A cell phone will trigger the seat belt alert, the first few times I had no idea what the chimes were since the indication is in the overhead near the rear view mirrior. I am not saying this is the original posters problem, just that I can verify they can be extremely sensitive.
