Congrats on Volt Gen2 & joining this helpful website.I purchased my first GM product,a 2017 Volt LT in Nov '16 (Big Island,HI)& my wife & I are happy users. We find using HOLD routinely a great benefit (terrain/home recharge limitations),but use NORMAL most times. You will find in moderate temperatures that EV miles increase significantly with useage and unhurried driving-an extended range electric vehicle is a wonderful middle ground until charging infrastructure improves.A 240v EVSE at home simplifies operation!
Enjoy your beautiful Volt!

Yeah, the car is pretty awesome. Especially since I traded a 2014 Prius that I bought brand new and had for about 18 months before deciding on the Volt. Best decision I could have made, even with the new 4th Gen Prius and Prime I am still glad I have the Volt!

Thanks...yeah I learned a lot of tricks from when I had my 2014 Prius and applied many of them to the Volt so I get many more miles per charge that way. Now that the weather is warming up I am back in the low 70's range area again but so far in 1 year never saw below 62 miles even in winter months. However I do live in CA.

I am new here as well. Have to say lots more useful information here than at the "official" GM site that is almost a ghost town except for spammers.
