Newbie to the forum and to owning a Volt. I've always loved the idea of one ever since they came out, and have been looking for a while for one for an agreeable price. Found a fully loaded 2012 in great condition and very well taken care of a couple weeks ago, test drove it and loved it! Of course it does have higher mileage (123,000) but has been running perfect so far.

Good price especially if everything works. 123,000 miles isn't that much mileage considering there's one that's gone over 440,000 miles.

Wow that's a crazy amount of miles! Everything works on it and it was very well cared for, super clean inside and out. Side note...I somehow picked my original pic showing my license plate that I guess I'd really rather not have posted, but I added the one with it blurred out, but can't seem to get rid of the original for some reason?

Not sure why people are worried about this. I know some people make up cardboard licence plates to put on their car (seen it on Live PD) but a police check will show it's not registered to that car and they are in trouble not you. What are the thoughts on this?

Too late, I have already uploaded your photo with license plate to the FBI, CIA, NSA, and GRU.

Seriously, though, it's a beautiful Volt. How many of those miles were on the gasoline engine?

Congrats! The good thing with this forum--you can get a lot of information on issues and do a lot of research should anything come up. This forum helped more than any dealer EVER did.

Ha oh well I guess! Is there a way to show exact miles used on gas? Didn't seem to be for me. The lifetime MPG was 40.0 when I picked it up a couple weeks ago, I've managed to get it to 40.2

Seems like 99% of those miles were on gas then. Might want to check the car's service record to see what maintenance has been performed.

I'm also in MN and bought a 2012 a couple of months ago. You should be able to get a couple of months of On-Star for free. There's an associated website and app: my.chevrolet.com that will show you a bunch of stats on your volt including lifetime EV and Gas miles. In my case, it took a few days after signing up on On-Star for everything to start working.

There's also the site voltstats.net that can keep a history for you via your onstar account.

Don't feel bad about your lifetime MPG. Mine wasn't much better when I got the car and I thought about getting it reset. Instead I decided to leave it as a record of its history and I use "Trip B" to keep track of how we're doing since we've owned it. I didn't reset Trip B it until a few weeks after we bought it, but I figured those first few weeks wouldn't really count as typical use for us anyway.

Well hello fellow MN Volt owner! Thanks for the tips regarding on-star and the website, I was curious if the car had some type of connectivity. I'll have to check that out for sure! And yeah come to think of it I reset my "Trip B" shortly after I got home with it so I think I'll just leave it too for my own record of MPG.

Sorry for the low-key threadjack/question... But do any of you know if the "lifetime" stats can be reset for Gen 2 Volts? If so, what's the procedure? I had a dealership employee tell me this could not be done on a 2019 LT.
