Hey all,

I have been lurking here for many months, and wanted to jump in to some of the conversations. I am very excited about the prospect of electric cars, and the additional potential for energy independence, both from a national perspective and also the personal potential for independence with home-based solar and wind solutions.

I am currently taking wind measurements on some property I own up in Washington State with a long term goal of moving back there and utilizing both wind and solar to achieve personal energy independence.

I worked for Applied Materials for 11 years until 2007. If you are unfamiliar with them, they are a semiconductor capital equipment supplier who is making large new investments in solar panel manufacturing equipment. It is great to see them branching out in this direction. They have remarkable resources and engineering capability to make the equipment available for companies to mass produce solar panels based on thin film processing.

Glad to meet you all. I hope to be the first Volt owner in Colorado Springs as soon as possible!

Welcome Everman!

I used to work with AMAT indirectly, also with Intel, through various services of their subcontractors. I made several on-the-spot inventory system for temporary bins to track, inventory and order materials for various stages of projects.

I have some friends who are excellent Citrus Growers in the greenhouses of Colorado.

I got interested in the Electric Vehicles when the battery technology developed significant advances at the commercial level, which is now. So I ended up here.
