Hi everyone,

...YANG here! (yet another new guy)

I'm starting to do some serious looking for our first PHEV. Being basically GM customer for ages, the first place I'm starting to look is the Volt. Prius Prime will also get a look-see...if for no other reason than to provide a comparison. Who knows, I may actually like one.

Anyway, I've been reading through this forum as part of my background learning. There has been a lot of good conversation going on here and I'm looking forward to being a part of it.

At least consider a used ELR while you're at it. If I didn't already have a volt, that's what I'd be shopping for. Sadly, there's no Gen 2 variant of the ELR with 50+ miles of EV range and 50 MPG. But she's so smoking hot, I'm willing to give up a little for sexy looks.

Does sound like it, but given it's limited range it is also a 'no' for me. I need the flexibility to do longer trips.

Then it's a volt (or a CT6, Audi Etron, Volvo XC90, Tesla Model X or S....all too pricey for most pocketbooks). The volt easily beats out the fusion energi and Prius time.

The Teslas are out. Their range isn't significantly different from the Bolt's. Not when we're seeing them regularly turning 260 and 270 mile trips, and "300 mile" Model Ss are doing about the same in actual practice.

Seems a shame, though, because there's CCS charge station about ever five miles within 50 miles of Annapolis. DC/Baltimore is far denser with CCS than NYC or Boston, or pretty much anyplace outside of California.
