Hi Everyone,
I'm a Volt "possibly" and joined the forum to help me learn more about the Volt so I can make an informed decision if I choose to purchase one.
I currently drive a 2011 VW TDI that I'm considering selling back to VW in exchange for their rather generous buyback offer. I bought the car in 2011 because I really enjoyed the low-end torque as well as the better than average fuel economy that the diesel provided. I considered the Volt and the Prius at the time but didn't like the look of the Prius or the newness of the Volt. I was driving a lot more highway miles when I got the TDI but now am almost exclusively in-town with trips of 20 miles or less each way. My annual mileage is probably 9-10k with 80% city and 20% highway. The Volt looks like it might be a good option given my situation.
I took a test drive the other day of a 2017 LT and I really enjoyed it. The torque is very "diesel-like" and the ride/handling seems pretty solid. It's just my wife and I so the smaller backseat isn't really a big issue. The cargo room seems more than enough for our typical needs, especially with the rear seat down. I could see myself driving the Volt on a daily basis but I have a few concerns that I need to get additional information on before I make the final decision. I'll spend some time going through the forum and post any questions I can't find answers to.
Looking forward to finding out more about the Volt. If everything goes well I might just end up getting one!
