Just enter "ev charging station near (city, state)". Example, "ev charging station near Detroit, MI".
Don't be surprised if the pickings are slim. Then again, Volt owners don't need to worry about this much.

Interestingly, Google's map displays more than I get using the DOE's site, which Google is assisting with:

I don't know about other area, but in Greater Washington DC area, Google's display is a bit dated last time I checked it. It seemed to display only a small fraction of the charge stations. I found that mychargepoint.net has a few more stations, plus their statuses, too. Hope El'goog would soon indexed the left-out's plus competitors soon.

This site lists 78 chargers in the State of Georgia:

http://www.evchargernews.com/regions/ch-ga-all.htm

Except for five or so at Emory University, and another at the headquarters of Georgia Power, they are all listed as "Down." I am familiar with one of the locations, and the fixtures have been removed for years (lots of the old inductive paddle style chargers on that list). Google Maps shows 9 near Atlanta (One is at Jim Ellis Chevrolet, which brought a Volt from out of State for demo rides), but one of those 9 is marked as "Permanently closed."

There's a lot to do in a State which is expecting to get Volts for sale in November.

Yep,
It works great on my Thunderbolt Android Google Maps app. I don't even have to type it. I use the voice recognition and say "EV charging station near [city]" Now if our Volt Nav/Onstar system could just do the same. It doesn't have charging stations in the POI list or even a EVSE icon for saved locations.
