We've been doing that 2 mins for over a year now as we have a long driveway and coming home at night and parking the car out on the driveway enables us to get to the door easier without security lights! They're great. No battery issues after 15 months of that...

LED headlamps, the low beam headlights on the Gen 2 Volt, use very little energy. Probably no more than ~50 watts for both low beam lights. If your 12V battery has a problem with handling a load of ~4 amps @ 12.6V for 2 minutes your have a bad 12V that needs to be replaced.
