Yeah- I had the exact same issue last Friday (1/20/17). I was about to drive off after service and noticed the warning screens. I went back in and complained. The service department attempted to re-apply the update and it failed on the second attempt. They claimed that the safety module is now damaged and needs to be replaced so they ordered one for me - due next week some time. In the meantime, I drove off and it still didn't work. Then I stopped for an errand on the way home and upon driving off (2nd restart), the system was back on. It's been on all weekend thus far. I'll call them on Monday but may still have them replace the module just in case.

I was at Rydell last Wednesday (18th) for the reduced propulsion update and they also applied the front camera freezing update, which had come out the day before. They initially had a problem with latter update - they found the front camera didn't work afterwards. After another hour and a half and apparently a consultation with GM engineers, they were able to get it to work and even gave the car a test drive to check. When I drove away, at first the Lane Keep Assist didn't seem to be working. However, it was working fine by the time I arrived at home and I haven't had any problems since.

Your experience is exactly the same as mine. I got the recalls done Thursday. When I drove away I noticed the Lane Departure and Collision Avoidance warning screens. Turned around and went back in....they tried to re-do the update with no luck. I needed to get back home so I had to leave, and sometime during my trip home the 2 systems came back online. They have been working normally since.

Or need some time driving to recalibrate the vision stuff so it knows what it's looking at.
Understandable, but if so, perhaps there should be instructions in the bulletin as such so that all of us customers know what to expect and not think that our systems are dead after the update. If this is so, my service department wasted a technician's time to reprogram the module and then also ordered a potentially unnecessary replacement that will need to be installed or shelved.

Does anyone have the full details on this update? This is the first I have read about it. Does it apply to 2017's as well? Thanks!
(check my sig line for the answer to the latter question above :) ).

Rydell does not seem to know about the freezing update... Do you have TSB or service info for this?

Hello everyone,

Anytime the camera is re programmed there will be a learn procedure the dealer should be doing. Aftermarket windshields and poor visibility can sometimes interfere with this procedure.

Mountie
