So I'm on three weeks now without my Volt while waiting for my partial HV battery replacement part. I've actually had similar issues in the past with other Volt parts. It's odd that I'm often without my car for weeks when repairs are needed. Everyone else have similar experiences, or am I just unlucky?

My '13 has been trouble-free thus far, but my dad has been waiting on a coolant valve for his '14 for about 3 weeks now (and counting). Hope you are both back in business soon.

So the piece of the battery pack has FINALLY shipped! Hope to get the car back late next week, which means I won't hit my other record of six weeks without the Volt. If all goes as planned, I should be at just over 4 weeks when completed. Looking forward to getting it back!

Good one! Certainly better than salvaged parts. Maybe in 10 years we'll be able to do 3D printing of our car parts, including a new battery haha.

Depending on the part, yes, you might wait a few weeks. This can be an issue with any lower volume cars. Sometimes you can drive the car while waiting, other times not.

Waiting for parts isn't exclusive to Volt parts. The first time the mechatronics unit in a Jetta I owned went south, I waited weeks for a new one.

I had my charge port fail earlier this month (P0D22/P0D26) and it was repaired in less than 36 hours; mostly due to my scheduling constraints...

I find it cool too! Rough numbers I'm seeing say that the pack is around 400 pounds, which is pretty impressive.

I mentioned my dad's volt above; he was waiting on a coolant pump, not a valve. My mistake. He is back on the road, hope you are soon as well.

NevynPA, if my memory is correct 400 lbs should be about right.
