Was in the dealer for its annual oil change and showed them that my driver's seat belt was slightly frayed. I checked on line in advance and found recommendations that any such fray warrants changing the belt.

Dealer looked at it for 2 seconds and said yes, ordering a warranty replacement.

Probably the same belt as GM uses in lots of cars and suspect there is something sharp rubbing in the retraction mechanism.

Just a heads up for others to check in case there are more defective units out there.

Huh, I thought by now frayed seat belts were a problem of the past. With all the little issues Gen 2 has, I'm half expecting this to happen to me one day. Thank you for the advice.
