Low miles, preferred color and options, but it doesn't have the 110v charging cord. At some point, I plan on getting a 240v setup in the garage, but I want to start charging ASAP. Anyone aware of replacement 110v charging cords at a decent price?

I've bought several, on craigslist and ebay. I made some good profits reselling them. The Ford L1 evse cord was the best, it was much nicer than the cheap Voltec L1 cord. Any J1772 level 1 cord you find will work on the volt.

If it is a dealership selling a new Volt, they need to supply the EVsE with the car. If used, you are on your own.

Yes, the dealer or person selling the used car! This item should be considered necessary for use. Tell them, "Imagine trying to sell a regular car with a locked gas cap and no key to it".

If they still won't provide the charge cable, provide retail costs (get them from a GM dealership for highest prices) of a new one to discount off the car. The retail, new cost of a level I EVSE aren't much less than a low end Level II (240v) EVSE. Your best bet is a used one off ebay (good luck chuck) and any J1772 model from other manufactures (toyota, nissan, ford, etc) or aftermarket will work.

The only time I use L1 is to demo charging. L2 is the way to go.

If you haven't bought the car yet, negotiate its cost out.

I bought a TurboCord that's worked beautifully for me charging at both 120V and 240V. It's small and works both for L1 and L2 charging (they give you an adapter that clicks on to the TurboCord so it'll fit into a 220V plug). It's more expensive ($650), but it's great for me because I live in "temporary housing" all week where only 110V is available. I charge at 110V during the week and 240V when I'm at home.
