Somehow a 50kW motor in a wagon that big and heavy doesn't sound very exciting.
GMs GMC truck division actually made some electric trucks back in 1912-1916. Also Ransom E Olds was playing with EVs back then. There was also the experimental Electrovair in the 1960s and the Electrovette in the 1970s. In fact the fellow who headed up the EV1 program, Ken Baker, was also the Electrovette lead. (The cars leading to the EV1 were the Sunraycer solar car - built for the Australian solar race, and the Impact show car - both of which were done in conjection with GM's newly purchased Hughes Aircraft division, and also Aerovironment. Even though the Impact was driveable, a complete redesign was required for it to become an EV1)
