Hello all,

Ive got a 2015 Volt. Ive been driving it for about 18 months now...the short of it is I love it. I'm coming up on my 36k mile mark, and I'm wondering what kind of work or recalls have happened that I could maybe get fixed.

I heard something about:

1) Wind buffeting fix
2) Hatch struts replacement

Is there anything else I can get out of the dealer for free?

Thanks!

Call your dealer with your VIN, they can tell you.

You can go online to your OnStar or mychevrolet account and it will tell you.

I tried that and it said there were no recalls available. But this is why I'm here...to ask all of you current Volt owners. Like I said, isnt there a recall or something for both the wind buffeting and the rear hatch struts...
Wind buffeting isn't a recall. It's a customer satisfaction campaign.
The rear hatch struts were on recall for a number of Volts but I'm not sure the 2015 Volts were affected.

I honestly don't think there are any recalls on the 2015's

Recalls and TSB's are determined by VIN, if GM says there are NO recalls-TSB's for your VIN, they aren't going to do anything. TSB's are also VIN related but everyone in a while a dealer will fix something as a "good will" fix. The wind buffeting kit and smaller front air dam are two examples, some dealers installed the the kits for free, other would not.

Some folks also think that just before their B2B warranty expires they can take their car to a dealer and say "fix everything". It doesn't work that way. You actually have to have a problem.

According to the post below yours, there are in fact recalls that do not show up in the online recall vin search.

Honestly, I would rather enter into talking to a dealer with some knowledge first. The last thing the dealer wants to do is waste time working on my car for free.
Your dealer will tell what the GM system says you need. It's a phone call, not a purchase agreement. Seems like you'd want to know that before you go in.

Sure, that's why you need to take your car to the dealer. They have the definitive source.

Welcome back :)

Your dealer can run a report which will show what fixes your VIN is related to. That's pretty easy :)

It doesn't work that way. Dealers don't work on anything for free ;)
