I've been following the Volt since the concept was revealed in 2007, and I was lurking here within months of that reveal. Took me until 2012 to join.

But now, finally, I have one of my own! Just picked up this used 2016 LT with comfort package last night, and I'm really excited to be driving a Volt!

Interestingly, though 2016's were never sold in Michigan, this car was originally titled in Milford, MI, home of the GM proving grounds. I haven't had a chance to investigate but I'm going to check the Nav history to see where it spent most of its time. It appears to have been a 1 year lease vehicle. It has 18k miles, lifetime MPG of 106.

Purchase price was $21,700. It took a little hardball negotiating, but I'm very happy with it and the dealership experience was great. Dave, my salesman (DeNooyer Chevy here in Holland) actually has a hand drawn picture of a Gen 2 Volt hanging on his cube wall, that was drawn by his 8 year old daughter. I thought it was cool to see that. They are very supportive of the Volt at DeNooyer, and are one of the largest Volt dealers in West Michigan, so I'm told.

I took this pic this morning on my way in; the building in the background is the LG Chem plant here in Holland where the Volt's battery cells are manufactured. I drive right by every day on my commute, and now, every day, I'm going to smile as I do it knowing I'm driving a VOLT!!

Welcome onboard... be prepared to go "what the hell is wrong with this car?!?" every time you drive an ICE vehicle from here on out.

My 2013 is blue and it is by far my favorite Volt color! Congrats and thanks for the pics. I still think the Volt is begging for a sunroof, but with that venturi action going on in the roof I guess it's not possible. Blah!

Congrats, that blue does pop nicely...and a great price for what is essentially a new car (and looks it too, well done!). Also cool to see that building in the background where the batteries are manufactured, great pic.

Welcome aboard. I wanted a blue Gen II with ACC but with the grey leather interior, but for some reason GM didn't offer that color combination. So I got my second choice Siren Red with the burgandy interior.

I owned two Gen I's and the Gen II is a significant improvement, and the Gen I was brilliant.

I'd ask your dealer if they would provide you a copy of the GMVIS report. That will show you everything GM ever did to the car while in service.

Good luck and enjoy your Volt. Oh and don't freak out if you don't get the range you think you should get, its almost winter and the range of ANY EV takes a hit in COLD weather. As much as 30%.

Congrats on your Volt I followed the site for years too before I finally had the chance a year ago to buy one. From 2011 - 2015 I was living in Australia and even though it eventually made it down under the price was insane! So upon returning last year I picked up a used Volt that had been a GM executive pool vehicle that had all of 3,400 miles on it after 1.5 years. I previously owned mostly German cars but I love my Volt. I thought I was going to upgrade to a Gen 2 but thinking I might buy a Bolt and hold onto the the Volt for any long distance travel that might come up.

I finally got my first full charge last night (might have to look into level 2 charging as I'm coming home from work too late recently to get a full charge, even at 12 amps). The predicted range was 45 miles. I suspect with my driving style that will rise gradually, but I'm also prepared to see it drop heading into the colder Michigan winter. Good news is my commute is 32 miles a day, most of it 60 mph country roads (not highway) so I am still hoping with a full charge to avoid gas on a daily basis, even in February.

I found a copy of a "GM Fleet Operations Vehicle Inspection Report" in the glove box, so obviously this vehicle was a GM Fleet vehicle. In fact it still had the plastic protective coverings on the carpeting under the floor mats. Interior is flawless!

And I did get a GMVIS report from the dealer. All the recalls are closed, and there's only one thing listed under service information: Type EI, Number PIE0365, with no description, dated 6/21/16. Any ideas what that could be?

Congratulations, dutch husky! The Kinetic blue does look nice in the evening, but wait until you get it into summer sunlight. It's the exact same blue as the promo vids.

You're so lucky to be driving it without that front plate bracket marring the front. It always looks like my Volt's got spinach in its teeth due to that happy, toothy, grin that is the front grill. I envy you.

Cars look SO much better nowadays without a bracket and especially without a plate on the front. Love that Michigan doesn't require a front plate...and love that my car came with no bracket!

Congrats and welcome to the family! And I totally agree with Dutch's comment!
