I live in LA and have a property in Creston. It's about 200 miles away. I take the 5 to the 46 to get there. Do you think the bolt would make it? I asked the dealer (rydel) about an extended test drive, they said no. I checked into the maven ride share, it won't let me have the car for more than 24 hours.
Anyone know of a way to do an extended test drive? Anyone willing to spend a day driving around with me? I can put in a l2 charger in Creston so we can charge up. I have one at my house currently since I have a fit ev. If it makes it I'm all in, but I just need to make sure.

Anyone have suggestions or opinions?

Extended test drive

Anyone know where I can do an extended test drive? I live in LA and have a property in Creston which is about 200 miles away. I take the 5 to the 46 to get there. I asked rydell and they said no, I checked maven ride share and they only allow 24 hour trips. Anyone willing to spend a day driving around with me? I can put an l2 charger in Creston to charge up. I have a fit ev right now and I know the range changes dramatically based on temperature. Anyone willing or know where I can rent for a weekend?

Play around in EVTRIPPLANNER.COM configure a Tesla MS60 w/19" tires. Here's what I came up with for your trip.

On paper it looks doable, but man you could be cutting it close. I'd want to know where en-route chargers are just in case.

Good luck.

That could be a stretch, because you are going over the grapevine, and over the foothills to the coast on 46 from I5, which is quite a ways out of your way besides having a high speed section on I5. And there are very few chargers on that route, once you pass Castaic.

Another possibility would be to take 101 most of the way there, which has way less hill climbing, and a little slower speeds most of the way. At speeds averaging at or below 60, and using very little heat/air, it would probably be an easy trip for the Bolt. But it would also be 30-60 minutes longer driving. (just my humble opinion) :)

Yeah, 101 sucks. Too much traffic. I like the direct non scenic route. I'm generally doing 80 all the way, but I'd slow down to 70 if the bolt would make it. I take the 46 basically to paso robles. Slight grade all the way there, and of course I'm assuming the grapevine is a killer.

I'm starting further north then what you had on the planner, I start right at the 5&405. I just wish I could find a rental to make sure. How long does it take to charge on a l2?
