Hello guys! Never thought I'd be a chevy owner, but here I am now. ;) Been researching used EV's and after all was said and done, the Chevy Volt seemed like the best choice for me. Originally I was looking at the Leaf but the non-cooled battery just scared me away pretty much (I live in the desert). I like having the benefit of the gas engine for long drives, but the option to stay all electric if i stay local.

But yea, I'm getting a used 2015, with all the bells and whistles, and tan interior @ carmax. I was originally shopping for private owners but man, some of these guys are just pricing themselves out. The nice thing about carmax is that if you find another car from another city/state, they can ship it to you for free, or 100 or so. I saw one with lower miles and more features, and cheaper (vs what I was seeing locally), so I ended up asking them to ship it over.

But anyways, glad to be onboard :) -- I'm a diy car/motorcycle kinda guy so I'm hoping to learn more about the Volt in these forums.

Cheers guys!

Congrats! I also got a 2015 Premium from Carmax back in May. I had been browsing through the Carmax site for weeks, and a couple of good ones got away because I wasn't fast enough. Then one day this new arrival shows up in Dallas, and I knew that was the one. Paid to have it shipped over and got it the next week. It's been an incredible ride so far, and I love driving this thing. I know you will too.

I keep reiterating it on these forums but the best thing you can do once you get your vehicle is to sit in it for 2-4 hours and read both user manuals cover to cover and try out all the options. This hard work will repay itself over and over in a thorough understanding of your vehicle. Have fun -you have bought a great vehicle...

Hope it works out for you and the car is yours soon.
I would think if you live in the desert you might want to read up on the Volt's coolant system.
There are some good threads in this forum on that topic.
