Hi just want to drop by and thank all of you for maintaining these forums.

I just cannot wait. I am building my own EV out of a Dodge Dakota. I have my own 90% efficient battery charger and am currently testing it on my Jeep by running without the alternator.

Follow works here:
Gassavers.org - 150 Hybrid Jeep Marathon
Blogs and photos of my electronics workshop.

Nice project. Every little bit helps! I calculate that you save 931 gallons of gas for every 100,000 miles you drive. at $4 a gallon (I expect it to go much higher over the next 5 years) minus the cost of electricity (you are powering the charger with solar panels right? ;) you have a budget of around $3000. I look forward to hearing more about your progress.

You are also building important skills that will be extremely useful in the coming years. I recommend that everyone grab some batteries and start working on a project. Solar panels too. There are some great projects on the Internet that can help get you started. Not only is it fun and empowering it also makes the time go faster while you wait for your Volt! :)
