New to 2018 Volt\(Had my 2012 for 7 years, traded it in)
Whats with the Energy Usage Score? What the highest # you can attain, assuming a high plus number is good.
Does it change with every trip or is it roll over?
Thanks in advance.

It blends driving history, temperature, terrain and climate control. The maximum score would be +5. Anytime you are using heat or AC this drags down your score by -5. Even using just the fan lowers your score for climate control to -2.

The outside air temperature is beyond your control. Theoretically you could improve your terrain score by choosing a flatter route or one with a downhill slope (but what about the return trip?)

The total max score is +15. The total min score is -20. And it resets every time you are fully charged.

- If you drive gently you will increase that score. (I am usually around +3)
- Terrain is out of your control. And theoretically every round trip should put you back at 0, but it never seems to work out that way.
- Climate control can only go down. If you use heat you will get into the negative a lot faster. Gently AC use can keep you above -5. No climate control can keep you at 0.
- Outside temperature is also out of your control. Hot weather will put you in +, cold weather in -. I've never seen less than -3.7 or more than +4.2.

Your range has some correlation to what your score is at any point in time, but I've never done any detailed data analysis.
