I got a check engine light the other day when we were out of town.
I called onstar and had them run a diagnostic
I had them email a copy to my dealer, rosner chevrolet in melbourne, Florida
I had fuel inside my charcoal canister, and rosner told me that it wasn't covered under warranty as it wasn't covered under warranty.
Wtf!!!!! I have 17,000 miles on my 2015 volt premium?
I guess my lawyer will make them see the light.

Your lawyer may ask you if you overfilled the tank.

Abuse is not covered under warranty.

When the driver or the attendant overfill the gas tank pass the nozzle click-off, the charcoal fume capture canister can get flooded. Someone kept force feeding gasoline until your car gagged. Regrettably, those extra few pints will end up costing you.

Sorry for your trouble. You highlight one of the reasons that I fill the tank myself or I stand next to the fill port if an attendant is doing the filling. The last thing that I want is some gas jockey chipping the paint as he whirls the nozzle toward the opening... and misses.

There is a recall for GEN 1 VOLTS to replace canister for a larger one... at least for 2014 ,,,if it is the case for 2015 , you will get it free !!!.

I had forgotten about that, Volt Spain, thanks for the reminder! Worth a try.

Inspection is not needed for the emission system. It's a recall based strictly on VIN# to replace the emission control system. Your VIN is either on the list or it's not. You can call the dealer with your VIN# and ask if there are any recalls or customer satisfaction campaigns that apply to your car. I called my dealer and asked if they had the parts in before I made the appointment. They did and I was in and out in under an hour.

Add labor and tax it is almost $1,200

My evaporative fume capture charcoal system was replaced in a half hour under the campaign listed above. Given the prices you were quoted either your issue is something different or someone is taking you for a ride. Get a second opinion.

thats kinda what i said before rosner is NOT the place to go to i have been ripped by them so i know what i speak take it to bob steele and you'll be a customer for life. i drive from madison fl. to bob steele have prob bought 15 cars from them never been taken for a ride just saying
