2014 ELR. I had my first ever ERDTT run last night and again this morning. It has not been cold enough in the last two years to activate ERDTT.

My question is: Does ELR display an ERDTT message on the DIC?

I didn't see one this morning, but, I was outside unplugging the car when the engine fired. Last night when I was leaving a party I didn't notice any message either. May it's just too fast for me. :)

Can't speak for ELR, but I was surprised to realize last week that Gen 2 Volt does not have a message appear on the DIC for ERDTT. It should.

No indication on my 2014 ELR other than the split power display, but I kind of assume that would depend on which speedometer style you select.
Nothing in the DIC tho.
I will add something I saw the other day. Once the CUE display shows outside temp at 32, mine immediately starts up. Motor runs until coolant temp is about 142, then it shuts off until temp gets down to about 118 when it starts up again.
The other day, it warmed up and shut off as normal. Outside temp increased and I thought I was fine as it was a steady 34. But, when the coolant temp got down below 120, ERDTT came back on, even though temp was clearly 34 degrees! This is my third winter, but I really have to think that it doesnt matter if the temp goes up to 50, ERDTT will still run once it is 'tripped' for that drive cycle. I cant remember if I have seen this before, but its a bit irritating when I dont want it. But its a lease and I turn it in next fall so no sense worrying about it any more....

Huey Driver, this is my first cold season with the '14 ELR, so just I'm speculating, but I've had other cars that displayed this sort of behavior when it came to start and stop temps.

The car will go into ERDTT when the temp gets down to 32°F. The engine comes on and heats the coolant up, and then turns off when the coolant temp hits (for me) 145°F. Once the coolant cools to 120°F, the engine will come on again *unless* the outside temperature has risen above 40°F. Once the outside temp reaches 40°F, the car comes out of ERDTT. (I may be mistaken about the high temp. I thought it was 40°F.)

So if you first get in your car and the temp is, say, 36°F, it won't go into ERDTT. But, once it's *in* ERDTT, it will stay there until the outside temp goes above 40°F.
