His answer is as follows:
“Model 3 from the beginning we said free charging is not included in the Model 3;free unlimited charging is not included, so free long distance is, but not free local. It becomes really unwieldy for people to use the gas station approach for electric cars; cars should really be charged where you charge your phone, but then you just need to solve the long distance problem which is what the supercharger stations will do.”

Now it turns out there is no free Supercharging of any kind, long distance or otherwise:

Another rug pulled out from underneath those poor Model 3 reservation holders! With Model 3 production falling behind schedule, gotta save the pennies somewhere! First it was the mass firings/layoffs, now this.
edit: and seems Tesla was lying about the firings being "performance related". Geez, can we believe anything the company says these days? And it seems the number dismissed was more than the speculated "400-700".
