Doing so, they conclude, “could lead to an increase of 3,560 TWh of new electricity demand by 2050 relative to the non-electrification [business as usual].”

To get to 3560 TWh you have to include converting fossil fuel res/comm heating to electric...

Vox is definitely left leaning but that doesn't make what they say wrong. I hope the electric utilities are paying attention. The great thing about electricity is that there are so many alternative ways of generating it. Much more robust that fossil fuels.
