I have a new 2017 Premier purchased September 19th..
I have dust and lint behind the plastic lens cover even a couple pieces on the TFT itself. How does this happen? I thought the unit was sealed. According to the dealer, it is. Has anyone else had this problem?
They ordered me a new cluster. Hopefully they can put it in ok without damaging something. All I can do is trust the Volt tech. I hope the new one is dust free.

Having purchased many new cars over the decades and being the anal OCD type I am I keep a microfiber towel in my car and find myself "dusting" all the time. I can say any spec of dirt etc behind the LCD screens I would find and see it.

My LCD is crystal clear. Glad your dealer is replacing the entire LCD. That would have driven me nuts.

Update: Another user on the FB page just posted about his problem on this. He had his replaced because of dust. It took 9 hours and they ran into programming problems and needed GM's help. It's still not right., Onstar and the EV mileage isn't matching up now. Plus, who knows how tight everything is going to be put back together. clips, plastics, etc. I think I'll live with it. I'm going to reach out to GM and bitch. I paid top dollar for the car. It was 41900 msrp. only lease rebate, no other discounts. I didn't get the best deal. I knew that going in though because I made the NV dealer ship it from CA. I don't think I should have dust behind the display though.. typical GM sloppiness. I do love the car though.

also, yes on the OCD.. I keep a clean microfiber in the car for both screens. That's how I noticed it. The dust sometimes moves because of the static when I dust it.
