My wife has her IPhone paired to our 2016 Volt, and when we look at "contacts" for the phone on the Volt, my cell number (and home number) are in there twice under my name.
So if she tries the phone with voice commands, and says "call ALLAN Mobile" the response is, "Multiple mobile phones for ALLAN" and we can't figure out a way to tell the car which one to use.
Any ideas? Is it maybe downloading favorites AND also the rest of the contacts from the IPhone? It doesn't seem to be possible to delete one of the numbers from the Volt's contact list

The g2 volt doesn't download any contact jnformation to the car, so that is not the issue.

I've never seen this issue pop up here on the forum so this one is interesting. Was this issue always present or recenly show up? Maybe a restart of the phone will clear thing up.

Is the problem with chevy Mylink or Apple Carplay?

Does she is only uses the first name when asking for Allan? If so, then she maybe she forgot that there is another Allan in her contact. To check, try using both first and last name (i.e. allan smith).

Is the problem with all of her contacts or only your contact? If only your contact then i'd do a thorough search on her phone contacts to verify that there isn't more than one of you listed.

I had this same problem back when I had my Gen 1 Volt (so it has been a while ago). If I remember correctly, it was because my phone was set up to backup my contacts to the My Verizon cloud and for some reason there were two records of each contact on the cloud list. The phone did show that there were two cloud backups saved by showing 2 cloud icons in the contacts data in addition to a phone icon under a "Connected Via" tab.
The fix was to go to the My Verizon web site and manually edit the backed up list so that there was only one record of each contact. That deleted one of the cloud icons on the phone's list and fixed the double listing in my Volt.
I hope that I'm remembering this correctly, and if you are not on Verizon, I'm not sure how anyone else's phone cloud service works.

I had a similar problem. When I tell Android Auto to call my wife's mobile, it asks me to choose between her current mobile number and the previous one that is no longer in service.

Come to find out, Google has sucked up my entire contacts list including both the old and new numbers. I went to https://contacts.google.com and was able to delete the old number.

Now I have to figure out how to grab Google's data-grubbing fingers and break them off, at least as far as my contacts list is concerned.

Do you show duplicate contacts on the phone itself when the phone isn't connected to your Volt? I don't know about the iPhone, but Android is notorious for duplicating contacts.

No duplicate contacts in the phone. And I went nuts searching the phone and my PC for the obsolete phone number.

Google contacts did have a duplicate contact, one with the old number. It never got back to the phone but Android Auto used it.
