Our 14 Volt just experienced its first issue, just 19 day before the 36 warranty ends.

( I assume this is in the 36 )

If passenger moderately bumps the center stack, it unlocks the door. This happen today when I was riding right seat and the car went over an undulation in the road.

It does it repeatedly.

?? Is this a sign of total lock failure? Could a thief perhaps break in by rocking the car?

Is it a difficult repair to get at the lock buttons?

See if the center stack lock/unlock buttons have some dirt or grime on the edges preventing them from returning to the off position.

If it's repeatable, take it to the dealer to have it fixed under warranty. Then they can tell you what the cause was. But if you are paranoid about someone rocking the car to unlock it, give it a try. I suspect the only result will be some sweat and neighbors who walk more quickly past your house. :)

The way I look at it, if it's operating outside what is normally expected, have it checked. As you stated, you only have a few more days left on the warranty, so I'd have them pay for it rather than wait until it either stops functioning, or randomly sends an unlock signal to the doors and end up having to foot the cost yourself to have the switch replaced (assuming it's just the switch has a funky connection issue internally).

It sounds like there is a loose wire somewhere. When you bump the console, it is making contact with the lock button, and sending the lock signal. Should be an easy fix for the dealer.

My thoughts exactly.

Visit the dealer and find out, they will be able to answer your question better than random strangers :)

^^^ Mu unlock button has always been sticky/slightly out of alignment; when it is stuck halfway down, it behaves like WS-Mtns describes. When stuck all the way down, the car unlocks after I've walked out of range with the remote... Wiggle it so it comes back out and everything is OK.
