Last night my wife and I went to dinner.... Middle to slightly higher end Irish Pub. Walking back to the ELR, theres a small group around the car. They are talking and saying goodbyes, but they are awfully close to the car.

I'm thinking "Get the F*ck away from my car.." (I'm embarrassed how much I like this car!)

I get closer and the group starts to separate and one guy, startled, was like "Love your car, I didn't touch it I promise." OK. Thank you.

My wife, till this point didn't believe me when I say people loose their minds over this car..... Shes shocked!

So, we stop at the liquer store for some Scotch, and when we get out.... 2 more guys ask what it is, and indicate they also like it. Almost gushing actually.

Wife is floored.

We go in and buy a bottle (I'm trying Walker Platnium.... Pretty yummy FYI) and in line ANOTHER guy asks me "Hey, is that your Caddy outside?"

Yes Sir, It is.

That's a stunning car, what is it?

And, I go into it a little bit....... Wife at this point, is completely beside herself.

Is this the new normal for me? :)

The ELR is a beautiful car. I see a cream-colored one in Southold quite often.

Have you tried Lona's Lil Eats, 2199 California Ave in St. Louis? I've been there twice with my daughter. The food is very tasty.

I prefer Johnnie Walker Black or Laphroaig, myself 8^)

Glad to see you back on the boards!

Thanks! Glad to back! :)

Havent tried Lonas, in fact never heard it it. WTH, I'll give it a shot.

Walker Black is great, and I drink it often as a after work wind-down drink..... Usually though, I like my Scotch like I like my women - 18 Years old, quiet and in the kitchen.

That said, Walker Black is great in another way I like my women.... 14 years old on Coke.

Glad to be back! I missed it here.

Yes it is the new normal, only because you are driving a show car that nobody has seen, because it's so rare. IMHO, it looks better than the CTS Coupe. I'm still cursing GM for releasing the ELR at the original $75K MSRP because if it was at $50K, i wouldn't be driving a volt right now. Still hoping to get t-boned so I have an excuse to get one.

I have to agree with the rarity. I actually just saw my first recognized ELR in the wild parked next to us. I say recognized since I could have seen one driving around in the past but never registered it. I was with my step-dad and he thought it looked a lot better than the Volt. I have to admit, it's a very nice looking car having now seen more than just pictures on a computer screen.
