So found the below video on Youtube (also attached a screen grab):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vq5x-wqan2U

Right around the 1:56 mark, you see the Volt portion of the comparison.

The color looks purple/burgundy to me. That can't be Siren Red, can it? The screen grab also includes a patch of red from the track as a reference and the car still looks purple/burgundy. When I checked www.chevrolet.ca to look for colors, it's the same as in the USA.

Am I just seeing video with bad color reproduction or something? Cause, I'm wondering if there's a secret catalog of Volt colors or something.

I think it's from a gloomy day and not so great camera. But I'm with you on some more exciting colors. I personally want a deep midnight purple. I think I'm forced to just plastidip the entire car to get what I want.

Thats siren red alright -- just an overcast day and a crap video camera that looks to be very low quality.

here's a page with some pretty accurate clear/day pics of quality for siren red:

It's funny - same thing happened on the GM website for Heather Grey Metallic, their representation of it on screen looks boring/dull/ugly, but in person it's amazing, that's why I bought it :)

I have seen a few of the SRT gen2 Volts and the color is definitely deeper and darker than the CRT from gen1.

I think a gunmetal blue and maybe a deep copper would look pretty good on the Gen 2.

GM has rad several "tintcoat" red's over the years that can look very different under varying lighting conditions. My first was the Monterey Red on my 2006 Corvette, with no sun it looked burgundy and in the sun it looked like old school Candy Apple Red.

The new Siren Red is the same.

It's an overcast day here in Boston, and I just got my new 2017 Siren Red home. It looks very burgundy in this lighting, much like the photo and not at all as my 2015 did in the same conditions. Interesting.

Huh, never saw SRT in person but all of the dealers local to me when I was shopping had photos of the SRT in bright daylight, so maybe that's why I've never seen the "burgundy" red from an overcast sky. Dealers should start putting photos in different lighting and weather scenarios. </whine>

That's what I'm used to seeing in dealer photos. Looks like the front of your Volt is starting to become purplish in the shade, great example of the SRT metallic paint doing it's thing. Cool lightening bolt on the side too. Good way to dress up that "dimple" on the Volt's sides.

it's the metallic paint, it's likely a pearl coat style. it will change in different lighting from a bright red to a purple. My Suzuki Grand vitara with "shining red pearl" was the same. I like the effect...
Never noticed this on my Kinetic Blue. It looks brighter in the sun, but haven't noticed a color change as dramatic as SRT. I'm jealous.
